The stylish and romantic M/S Alta was originally built in Norway as a 140 foot ketch rigged Three Masted Staysail Schooner.  Alta is one of the most beautiful sailors in the Galapagos; she is ideal for travelers who seek exclusivity and uniqueness. Alta is fitted with 8 tastefully decorated cabins that accommodate up to 16 passengers. Each cabin has private facilities with fresh, hot and cold water showers.

The romance of the Alta comes from being a single hulled sailing vessel. The interesting architecture of her cabins makes the most of the available space, providing an authentic, yet comfortable experience. A seasoned Captain and dedicated crewmembers, including an experienced English-speaking naturalist guide, attend to the details of your Galapagos cruise. Small boats, locally called pangas, ferry passengers to shore for Island visits. Accommodations include 8 double cabins, each furnished with a roomy closet, drawers and private bath. All cabins are beautifully furnished and include polished wood surfaces.

Presently, the M/S Alta is one of the finest of luxury sailors to cruise in the Equatorial waters of the Galapagos Islands. The Alta is fully air-conditioned, has autopilot capabilities as well as state of the art satellite communications. The M/S Alta’s main salon is very elegant and inviting. A curving banquet and coffee table stand opposite a cabinet holding the TV/Video system. At mealtimes, there are two alternatives inside, in the dining salon, which seats 16 in four tables or “al fresco”, on the outside deck.

The dining facilities aboard are very informal and accommodating to your needs. Service is always friendly with a smile! The chefs prepare delicious Ecuadorian specialties, as well as Continental dishes. Start each day with a casual breakfast; at lunch enjoy crisp salads, healthy pastas, assorted fresh vegetables, produce, meats and fish all creatively prepared. Unwind in the evening with creamy soups, grilled seafood, roasted potato salad, unique deserts, and other delicacies of Ecuadorian and international cuisines.

The M/S Alta offers many areas for sunning and relaxing, including a magnificent sundeck with lounge chairs just forward of the bridge and another with cushions on the bow of the yacht. The lounge chairs on the Sun Deck are a perfect spot for enjoying the warm Galapagos sun or to simply catch the ocean breezes as you cruise through Darwin's biological paradise. When the ocean conditions are at their best and the magnificent white sails are hoisted, the romantic M/S Alta becomes on of the most spectacular sailing yacht sights in the Galapagos Islands.
